While conducting research for this project I learned that there is an enormous amount of information and
creditable online sources of information about this topic. The violence and terror that devistates the region is something
that happens so regularly, it is often tuned out by an overwhelming majority of people. Living in the United States it is
a region that seems so far away. Even after 9/11 it is difficult to imagine terrorist acts occuring on a day to day basis.
The mass murders that have occured in the Indian regions of Kashmir, Punjab, and even the capital Delhi
have been clear violations of human rights and are motivated by religion, politics, and extreme attitudes. Those guilty
of these crimes have been in many cases promoted to positions of govenmental authority and are also part of the regions police.
So law enforcement is comprised of individuals with no hearts or senses, who clearly violate what is considered by many
to be human rights.
